T&J Marketing · Blog Contractor, HVAC & plumber website checklist
Trade customers usually need help fast. Your website's job is to make calling you easy.
By the T&J Marketing team ·
1. A phone number you can tap
Put your number at the top of every page and make it a click-to-call link. Someone with a leaking pipe or a dead furnace wants to call now, not hunt for a contact page. A click-to-text button helps customers who would rather text.
2. The towns you serve
List your service area clearly. It tells visitors right away whether you cover their address, and it helps search engines understand where you work. An extra page for the towns you serve is a common add-on.
3. A clear list of services
Spell out what you do: repairs, installs, maintenance, emergency calls. Use the words your customers use when they search, like "water heater replacement" or "AC repair."
4. Real photos of your work
Photos of your trucks, crew, and finished jobs show you are a real local business. Use your own photos rather than stock images. Our photo pass crops and places up to 8 photos you already have.
5. Hours and emergency availability
Say when you answer the phone, and whether you take after-hours calls.
6. A simple quote request form
Some customers are comparing options and want to ask for a quote without calling. Keep the form short: name, phone, and what they need.
7. Licensing and insurance details
If your trade requires a license in your state, show it. Customers look for it before they let someone into their home.
8. A Google listing that links to your site
Many people find a contractor through Google Maps. Make sure your listing has the right phone number, hours, and a link to your website. Our Launch plan includes Google listing cleanup.
